woolcool® insulated eco packaging evolved from working with National Trust tennant farmers who wanted an alternative to polystyrene or polyethylene insulation.
The farmers and their customers wanted an effective, yet more enviromentally friendly means of keeping their home deliveries chilled during transit.
Angela Morris, an experienced packaging designer with a wealth of expertise in eco-packaging design was appointed by the NAtional Trust to take on the project.
It was essential that every element of the insulated packaging was environmentally friendly and after detailed research excluded any consideration of man-made insulation materials such as polystyrene or polyethylene.
And so woolcool environmentally cool insulated packaging was born, a range of boxes using recycled, recyclable, degradable and compostable fibreboard, with a unique wool insulation lining.
For convenience of ordering smaller quantities, we have some of our more popular products available to buy here on this website. However if you’re looking for printed insulated packaging, a specific size or a larger quantity (more than 500) please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.
Our wool insulated boxes are now used by leading UK food businesses such as River Cottage, Abel & Cole and Daylesford Organics.
We are completely confident with the effectiveness of our product, however we do recommend that purchasers undertake trials of their own particular packing systems and cool chains. It is the purchasers responsibility to ensure that the insulated packaging is suitable for their requirements.
