March, 2024

In 2002, Woolcool® was invented, and the pioneering journey to revolutionise insulated packaging began.

Fast forward to today, our commitment to environmental responsibility remains unwavering, driven by a purpose to create high-performing chilled packaging solutions that use natural materials to minimise our impact on the planet. We’re leading the pack towards a better future.

We aren’t jumping on any bandwagons or scrambling to create natural solutions to make a quick buck from consumer trends. Our approach involves decades of extensive research and development, striking a balance between materials that are fit for purpose and a resolute stance against contributing to over-consumption. The result? Truly sustainable thermal packaging that reflects decades of experience in the industry.

For example, our decision to maintain the use of recyclable plastic isn’t one of ignorance, or failure to invest in new technology. It is a considered approach, based on our investigations into new materials which lack credibility, and our desire to work more closely with local councils to educate the community and improve the amount of packaging material being recycled correctly, which in turn maintains the balance of material availability.

One of our proudest accomplishments is pioneering a circular economy scheme within the insulated packaging industry. We lead the way by accepting returns of our Woolcool® liners, extending their lifespan and preventing them from contributing to waste. This initiative reflects our deep-seated belief in taking responsibility for our products from cradle to grave.

We recognise that our actions alone won’t change our climate course, however we do believe in the power of the collective. If everyone does something small, the impact is massive.

Managing Director, Woolcool®

March marks the official celebration of B Corp UK month, a timely opportunity to champion the idea of using business as a force for good. Recognising our responsibility to both people and the planet, Woolcool® proudly became the first insulated packaging company to achieve B Corp accreditation. Recently re-certified for another three years with an improved score, our dedication to making a positive impact continues to soar.

We recognise that our actions alone won’t change our climate course, however we do believe in the power of the collective. If everyone does something small, the impact is massive. And we know we aren’t’ perfect yet, we can always better our impact on the wider world both socially and environmentally and strive to continually improve. That’s what being a B-Corp is all about.

Being transparent, taking responsibility, and creating a sustainable legacy is at the very heart of what we do, and we’d love for you to join the sustainable packaging revolution with us.
