At Woolcool®, we take pharmaceutical labelling regulations seriously.

When working with pharmaceutical supplies, from medications and supplements to laboratory apparatus, accurate and robust labelling is essential to ensuring the secure transportation of often life-saving equipment and supplies.

In accordance with the 2012 Human Medicines Regulation, Woolcool® works hard to guarantee vital pharmaceutical products are protected and accurately labelled at every step in their transportation journey, from when they are first packaged to the moment they reach the customer.

More and more Pharmaceutical partners are discovering the benefits of Woolcool’s range of products and benefitting from our many years pioneering in the field of sustainable packaging solutions.

Of course, sustainability aside, the Pharma sector rightly expects exacting standards of its temperature-controlled packaging solutions, backed by solid, tested data and in-depth scientific research. The properties of real pure sheep wool, as an amazing insulator – whether as part of a refrigerated delivery chain or as passive packaging – are raising the bar and attracting significant interest within the sector.

More than a decade of development and millions of pounds in government-backed research has enabled refine our packaging and produce data supporting the efficacy of wool-based insulation and packing. Working in partnership with scientists at Cambridge University and other respected institutions, our data has proven Woolcool’s effectiveness to our pharma partners repeatedly.

It’s about standards, and those standards also extend to effective labelling. Medical labels, with their instructions, information and warnings, are critical to patient safety and upholding scientific standards. At Woolcool®, we protect this information on multiple levels.

Managing Director, Woolcool®

When you choose Woolcool® to safeguard labelled pharmaceutical products, you can be confident our sustainable packaging protects the labels from impact damage, temperature changes and moisture. With both rigid and flexible packaging options available, finding the perfect fit for your product is easy, and our 100% pure wool liners provide cushioning too.

Our wool-based products also effectively absorb moisture to keep products and their labels dry. Woolcool ice packs and gel packs can be purchased alongside thermal blockers, which prevent products from making direct contact with ice or condensation.

Additionally, independent tests have proven that our award-winning insulated packaging is more effective than conventional packaging time and time again. The wool we use is an excellent temperature regulator, able to maintain temperatures between 2-8°C and 15-25°C for up to 120 hours. This ensures products remain at the correct temperature throughout the entire delivery process.

As well as protecting labelled products within our packaging, Woolcool® strives to ensure external labelling on the packaging itself is compliant with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards, which provide a legal framework for the transportation of medical supplies around the globe.

This includes making sure that products are easily identifiable by labels on their containers, that they are properly handled, and that information about storage and handling requirements is readily available on the container.

At Woolcool®, the accurate and robust labelling of packaging is a top priority, so we can be sure your sensitive pharmaceutical products are adequately protected, and regulatory standards are met every time.
