Double triumph for Woolcool at national awards
Woolcool is a pioneering packaging company. Woolcool® was launched in 2009 and the innovative, sustainable design has scooped an impressive haul of awards in the packaging, business, and environmental arenas.
Woolcool, a way of working
Innovation has seen Angela’s eureka moment grow into an international business. Speak to the Woolcool® team and you find that the creative spark isn’t just confined to the laboratories and designers – it’s an intrinsic part of the company’s set up, which encourages openness and idea sharing.
About wool – the facts
As it’s in our blood not to shy away from a challenge, an in-depth process of research and prototyping ensued, reviewing materials, developing insulating liner designs and box sizes. This led to a series of temperature trials with a variety of potential solutions. Wool is a genuinely environmentally responsible solution.
Founders of the sustainable packaging revolution
Sustainability is at the heart of everything Woolcool® does. They have spent more than a decade investing millions of pounds developing temperature-controlled packaging products for the pharmaceutical market, which use 100% sheep’s wool.
A year of innovation and renewal
As the year draws to a close, we thought it would be good to reflect on a year of innovation and renewal, which saw Woolcool officially open its new HQ, win further Royal recognition and launch an award-winning new sustainable product.
Honoured by our latest Royal recognition
The nation has a new King and Woolcool has received another Royal honour. In what may prove to be the last Queen’s Award scheme before it is renamed, Woolcool has been recognised with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise (Sustainable Development).
Balancing the needs of sustainability against rising costs
Wool is nature’s Smart Fibre which, as a result of millions of years of development in nature’s laboratory – evolution – is flexible, reusable, recyclable, compostable, light and strong. It’s also abundant.
Our future plans to meet the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
As a company founded on principles of sustainability and responsibility, Woolcool is committed to meeting as many of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals – or SDGs – as we can.
Our agenda to contribute towards the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals objective
Key to the success of the agenda are the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals – or SDGs – which set out how everyone can contribute to make the world a better place, from defeating poverty to driving innovation.
Why we’re so proud of our latest royal recognition
Plaudits and praise were never the driving factor behind the Woolcool ethos. However, we are very proud of the latest accolade to be added to our trophy cabinet – the 2022 Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Sustainable Development.
