We handle the complex part of the equation for you. Sometimes that can include refining through testing the correct combination of components to optimise your passive packaging solution.
As it’s in our blood not to shy away from a challenge, an in-depth process of research and prototyping ensued, reviewing materials, developing insulating liner designs and box sizes. This led to a series of temperature trials with a variety of potential solutions. Wool is a genuinely environmentally responsible solution.
As the year draws to a close, we thought it would be good to reflect on a year of innovation and renewal, which saw Woolcool officially open its new HQ, win further Royal recognition and launch an award-winning new sustainable product.
The nation has a new King and Woolcool has received another Royal honour. In what may prove to be the last Queen’s Award scheme before it is renamed, Woolcool has been recognised with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise (Sustainable Development).
Plaudits and praise were never the driving factor behind the Woolcool ethos. However, we are very proud of the latest accolade to be added to our trophy cabinet – the 2022 Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Sustainable Development.
By harnessing the benefits of 100% pure wool to provide superior insulation for temperature-controlled packaging, Woolcool® was created as a viable alternative to polystyrene and other manmade materials, stopping millions of tonnes of pollutants from going into landfills.
From the ‘eureka moment’ when our founder Angela Morris first realised the potential of 100% sheep’s wool as an insulator for packaging, to our Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation, Woolcool® has always looked for new ways of doing things.
Our company was formed after a ‘eureka’ moment for our founder Angela Morris, after she was asked to find a way to help the National Trust’s farmers get their products to market in a reliable and environmentally friendly way.
Woolcool® was launched in 2008 and the innovative, sustainable design has scooped an impressive haul of awards in the packaging, business and environmental arenas.
